Tour: Groups

The groups page displays a list of the groups you belong to and an overview of the activity in them. It is an easy to use and powerful tool for organising your social groups with work friends in your company and at other companies who you would like to be involved. You have control over who has access to your groups and all of the information and files contained therein is kept secure. It's a much easier and more efficient way to organise lunches, dinners, parties, and sports events, than to trawl through 500 e-mails a day, make constant phone calls, and negotiate with the IT department to upload files to a server so that they can be shared.

You can search for existing groups, or you can create new ones. When you create a new one, you can enter a name, description, location, and select an appropriate level of access. You might want anyone to be able to join, you might want people to be able to join but have to be accepted, or you might want the group to remain invisible and only allow people whom you choose to join it.

When you click on an individual group, you will be able to see an overview of the activity in that group, but also links to sections which enable you to have group discussions, set tasks for members to complete by a particular date, upload files to share with the other members, and if you are the owner or an administrator, change the membership and access policy for the group.
